daffodilThe Newtown High School Leo Club has completed another successful American Cancer Society Daffodil Days Fundraiser! The Leos have raised over $1300 that will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Thank you for all who have supported the Leo club!

The Leo Club meets Monday’s after school in B254. The advisor is Mr. Grady and the Co-Presidents are Michelle Green and Elizabeth Charash, with Caitlin Filiato as secretary.

daffodilsEvery year, the Leo Club, a community service club, raises money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the Daffodil Days fundraiser. If you are interested in ordering daffodils or making a donation, you can order online at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/newtownleos or pick up a paper order form from Mr. Grady in the world language office. Please place your order by Wednesday, February 27, 2013. The orders will be delivered to the high school the week of March 18, 2013. If you have any questions, ask Michelle Green, Elizabeth Charash, or Mr. Grady.

The Newtown High School Leo Club assisted the Newtown Lions Club in its annual Duck Race Saturday, May 26, 2012. The Leos were responsible for running the moon bounces and face painting. Anyone interested in community service should contact Mrs. Hurley about the Leo Club at NHS.

The Newtown High School Leo Club gives you a chance to meet other NHS students, connect to the community, earn community service hours, and participate in fun events (fundraisers, the Newtown Duck Race, campus clean-ups, and more).  Join us September 20, 2011 immediately after school in room B146 for our first meeting of the year.  We will have snacks and discuss this year’s upcoming events.  Contact Mrs. Hurley in the Social Studies Department if you have questions.

litterVolunteers are needed for Newtown’s annual Lose the Litter Day scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2009. Garbage bags will be available at the Middle School at 9am. The Leo Club and the Ecology Club will be helping to clean up Newtown High School. Earn community service hours and help us clean up Newtown!
