Amanda Friedman recently presented at the 2009 The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Convention. The roundtable session “Class, Race, and Sex: Negotiating the Self and Other through Young Adult Literature” was a success!

In addition to presenting at NCTE, Ms. Friedman also attended the annual ALAN (Assembly on Literature for Adolescents) workshop. There she participated in several workshops and had the opportunity to meet dozens of authors that impact the lives of young adults today.

She also came home with two full suitcases of free books, some of which have not been officially published! Ms. Friedman hopes to read and share these books with students as soon as she finishes them.

Ms. Friedman was also asked to present at next year’s 2010 NCTE Annual Convention “Teachers and Students Together: Living Literate Lives” in Orlando!
