National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month ®. Chartwells’ theme for National Nutrition Month this year is “Explore the Mediterranean Diet.”
The Mediterranean Diet is not really a diet but a description of eating patterns found in olive producing regions near the Mediterranean Sea. The National Association for College Admission Counseling has recently released its Report of the Commission on the Use of Standardized Tests in Undergraduate Admission. It includes “recommendations for the appropriate use of standardized admission tests in the transition from high school to college, and highlights (their) concern about prominent misuses of the tests.” The complete report is available here.

Commissioner Ward Speaks
WATERBURY – The Department of Motor Vehicles today announced that Academy of Driving, the largest commercial school in the state providing driver education and charged with engaging a variety of fraudulent practices, has been ordered to close its doors under current ownership.
The action comes as part of a DMV hearing for both Joaquim “Jack” Sousa, the school’s owner and a licensed instructor, and his wife, Sharon, also a licensed instructor. They admitted to more than 470 allegations of wrongdoing. Read the rest of this entry »
