Zoe Eggleston (10) exhibited at the  CT Forum on Creative Minds at the Bushnell in Hartford last Friday, invited on behalf of Connecticut Invention Convention to present her ‘Ice Device’. This invention is used to measure the thickness of ice through a series of mechanisms to determine safety, without have to venture onto the ice.

Zoe previously won the McCormick, Paulding & Huber Patent Award for this device, and her patent is still pending. This invention lead her to discover and become quite successful in CAD drafting programs and Power Tech in high school, opening many doors and leading her to look at mechanical engineering as a discipline in college.

Congratulations, Zoe!
